Bible Study

Please join Macedonia for Bible Study every Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. and every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., starting with Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday School Union Service

The Sunday School Union Service will be held on Sunday, May 31st at 9:30 a.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Macedonia will have Worship Service at 8:00 a.m. only. The church van will depart Macedonia for Oak Grove immediately following 8:00 a.m. Worship Service.


Graduation/Promotion Recognition

Parents, is your youth graduating from High School or moving on to Kindergarten, Middle School or High School? If so, please see Sis. Roni King by Sunday, June 14, 2015, if you would like them to receive recognition for this milestone during Youth Sunday on June 28, 2015.

Missions Team Anniversary 2015

MBC Missions Team, Rev. Dr. David E. Goatley, and the Masons of Roscoe C.Cartwright, Lodge 129
On March 8th, the Missions Team Ministry celebrated its Anniversary. Rev. David Emmanuel Goatley, Ph. D, the Executive-Treasurer of Lott Carey, was the guest speaker. The Missions Team received a special presentation from the Masons of Roscoe C. Cartwright Lodge 129 of Accokeek, Maryland.


Become A ´Year Up´ Professional

Year Up is a free, one-year, intensive training program that empowers low-income young adults to succeed in professional careers and higher education. Year Up offers:

  • six months professional training in IT, Finance or Customer Service;
  • six months corporate internship with a respected company; up to 24 college credits;
  • weekly educational stipend throughout the program;
  • and guidance and support from a staff advisor and professional mentor.

An estimated 85% of Year Up graduates are employed or attending college full-time within four months of completing the program. Those employed earn an average starting salary of $15 per hour ($30,000 per year for salaried employees). Applicants must be:

  • 18-24 years old;
  • a high school graduate or GED recipient;
  • of low to moderate income;
  • a U.S. Citizen, permanent resident or have an employment authorization card;
  • available 5 days a week (Monday-Friday) for the full year of the program;
  • and highly motivated to learn new technical and professional skills.

Father's Day Recognition

For Father's Day this year, we are going to take a trip down Memory Lane by creating and showing a Father's Day Slideshow during service on Sunday, June 21st. If you would like to take part in this video gram, please send or submit 2-3 pictures of you/your child/children with your/their father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle, or any other father figure in your/their lives (i.e. birthday parties, graduation, trips, etc.). Email digital photos to Sis. Roni King at ronistar66@hotmail.com or if you have older photos please bring them to service on Sunday, May 24th and we will scan and return them immediately after service. 21st Baptist World Congress

Members of the Lott Carey network will be participating in the 21st Baptist World Congress in Durban, South Africa, Wednesday, July 22nd through Sunday, July 26th. There are a limited number of spaces remaining to attend the Congress and to visit Cape Town for a justice pilgrimage to Robben Island, where former South African President Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, and St. George's Cathedral, "The People's Cathedral" where Bishop Desmond Tutu was enthroned as the first black African Archbishop. Potomac River Bible Institute

The Potomac River Bible Institute (1710 Sansbury Road, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774) is currently offering classes through May 26th. Classes will meet every Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m.-8:50 p.m. The cost of the textbook for each class is no more than $21. For a list of classes, please see Sis. Sinthea Myrick-Kelly. Forever Faithful
