Missions Team Anniversary 2015
On March 8th, the Missions Team Ministry celebrated its Anniversary. Rev. David Emmanuel Goatley, Ph. D, the Executive-Treasurer of Lott Carey, was the guest speaker. The Missions Team received a special presentation from the Masons of Roscoe C. Cartwright Lodge 129 of Accokeek, Maryland.
Become A ´Year Up´ Professional
Year Up is a free, one-year, intensive training program that empowers low-income young adults to succeed in professional careers and higher education. Year Up offers:
- six months professional training in IT, Finance or Customer Service;
- six months corporate internship with a respected company; up to 24 college credits;
- weekly educational stipend throughout the program;
- and guidance and support from a staff advisor and professional mentor.
An estimated 85% of Year Up graduates are employed or attending college full-time within four months of completing the program. Those employed earn an average starting salary of $15 per hour ($30,000 per year for salaried employees). Applicants must be:
- 18-24 years old;
- a high school graduate or GED recipient;
- of low to moderate income;
- a U.S. Citizen, permanent resident or have an employment authorization card;
- available 5 days a week (Monday-Friday) for the full year of the program;
- and highly motivated to learn new technical and professional skills.

New Members Orientation
There will be orientation for new members on Saturday, May 2nd at 9:00 a.m. All new members who have not completed orientation are encouraged to attend.
The Rev. Dr. Rafe M. Taylor Scholarship is provided to delegates from a National Capital Baptist Convention constituent church who is currently in good standing with the National Capital Congress of Christian Education. The scholarship is intended to motivate students to actively participate in the work of the Congress. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 8th. MBC Distinguished Service Award
The Macedonia Baptist Church Anniversary Committee is accepting nominations for the 2015 MBC Distinguished Service Award. The purpose for this award is to recognize MBC members who have demonstrated a love for Christ and His people, provided consistent and faithful service to MBC, and have made significant spiritual contributions to the life of the Church. Potomac River Bible Institute
The Potomac River Bible Institute (1710 Sansbury Road, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774) is offering classes from April 7th through May 26th. The cost of the textbook for each class is no more than $21.
